The Urban Anchoress is The Rev. Ellen L. Ekstrom, a vocational deacon in the Episcopal Church.  A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Ellen was educated locally and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theological Studies.  Her area of concentration is church history, also known as “Christian Mythos.”

Ellen is also an author, whose works of historical and literary fiction may be found at Amazon.com.  She is also an enthusiastic medievalist with an interest in Late Anglo-Saxon England and Medieval Florence.
